'Tombola Word Market' is part of a British Fashion Council Commission project. The piece is a collaboration between fashion designer Sadie Williams and Carla Busuttil with the support of British Fashion Council, Christies and Royal Academy of Arts. Google's most expensive AdWords are used as source material to explore the digital grey area between information provision and advertising. At the centre of the installation is a self-styled carpet tombola, used as a display unit to show hand-painted, collaged, printed and bonded ‘samples’. The piece is a playful, interactive installation which mimics a fabric shop front window, contrasting with more modern web-based methods of enticement.
